The United Methodist Church of Liberia through its Human Rights Monitor Department celebrated the global UMC Peace and Justice Week in Buchanan City Grand Bassa County, Liberia. The three days festivities included, presentations on topics like “Concession Agreements and their Benefits to the Liberian People,” “A Credible Electoral Process in Liberia,” and “Trade Union Affairs and their Impact on the Liberian Economy,” and “Gender Based Violence and its Impact on Girls,” among others. According to the Director of the Human Rights Monitor Office, Jefferson Knight, the celebration is the UMC Liberia way of contributing to the human resource development of Liberia.
The Peace and Justice was celebrated from Friday, June 13 to Sunday, June 15, 2014.
