Rev. Samuel J. Quire, Jr.
Born on September 5, 1959 unto Mr. Samuel J. Quire, Sr, and Madam Lucy N. Keah in the municipality of Garraway, Grand Kru County. Rev. Samuel J. Quire, Jr. served Retired Bishop John G. Innis as his Administrative Assistant from 2012-2016, he is now serving as the Administrative Assistant to the office of Interim Bishop Arthur F. Kulah. With five years of experience working closely with the episcopal office, Rev. Quire knows, if there is anything, how it feels to sit in the highest seat in the United Methodist Church in Liberia.
Rev. Quire holds a Master of Divinity Degree from West Africa Theological Seminary in Lagos, Nigeria and a Bachelor of Theology degree from the Gbarnga School of Theology. Rev. Quire’s early educational sojourn has taken him through the G. W. Gibson Elementary School, the Matilda New Port Junior High School, and the William V. S. Tubman High School all of them in Monrovia, Liberia.
The clergyman has served the United Methodist Church in Liberia in several ministerial positions which include but not limited to; Pastor of Jasper Grant UMC 1988-1990, Pastor Ebenezer UMC in Monrovia from 1992-2000, and Director of the Bishop Judith Craig Children’s Village 2000-2008. He was elected ministerial delegate to the UMC General Conference in 2004, the West Africa Central Conference in 2004, delegate to the All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC) in 2005, and delegate to the UMC General Conference in Portland, Oregon, USA 2016.
As an Elder in Full Connection in The United Methodist Church, Rev. Quire is a member of the Liberia Annual Conference, having served the conference as Associate Conference Secretary 1991-2000 and Conference Secretary 2001-2008.
His philosophy of life: “Never look down on any human being, because every person has a unique characteristic/trait, though he or she may be down today, but tomorrow he or she could be raised up!”
Rev. Quire is married to Mrs. Richlain K. Quire and the union is blessed with several children.
